The scenario on the table this week was simple: one supply road, two detachments, three turns. One side would keep the road open, the other would cut it. The ruined depot loomed over us all night.
Setup
A narrow corridor ran down the centre of the table, flanked by toppled containers and rubble that blocked all sight. The attacker started from the shadows, the defender from the high ground.
Turn by Turn
- Turn one: The assault wing slipped behind the rubble; the first shots missed, but the distance closed fast.
- Turn two: The defence built a firing line across the mouth of the corridor. This is where the dice betrayed us — one shot in three landed.
- Turn three: The line held at the last moment. The supply cart crossed the corridor, but the cost was two explorers.
The Terminal's Note
The lesson is clear: in an open corridor speed wins, on the high ground patience does. For the next expedition we suggest a smoke screen for the defender — morale breaks before sight does.
